Recovering After an Accident

Posted by CPA  Published in General

No one ever hopes to get in a car accident, but sadly it happens anyway.  You might take all the precautions in the world, but where there are cars, there are bound to be mishaps – they just haven’t got rid of human error yet.

Unfortunately for me, I am in the process of recovering after an accident.  You see, just a little more than a week ago, the temperature dropped below freezing and there was rain.  The result was ice all over the road, and that is something we are just not used to out here on the coast.

So, when I was out getting groceries, someone behind me hit a patch of ice and slid right into my vehicle.  I happened not to be paying attention at the time as I was looking for something in the glove box and ended up hurting my neck due to the collision.

I was a little mad at first, and it was sad to see my car injured, but I am most worried about my lost wages because I won’t be able to work.  Supposedly I should be feeling better in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime I will have to live off my savings until I can go back to work.

It has definitely not been the highlight of my year.

Keeping Your Car Under Wraps

If you own a car that is not your daily driver, that you keep because it is collectible or for sentimental reasons, it is important to keep it covered as much as possible.  Keeping a car in a garage extends its life, as it is less susceptible to rain, snow, hail, and road salts that encourage corrosion.

Unfortunately, not all of us have garages in which to store our cars — or if you do, there may only be enough room for your daily drivers, and you may really need the convenience of not having to clear your car on snowy days and so on.

Luckily, there is another option that many people forget to consider: self storage.  A self storage unit can usually be found in a large enough size to hold a car, and if it’s not one you frequently drive you won’t have to worry about it being stored away from home.

Besides, in this case storing the car away from home is totally for the good of the car.  By keeping a car in storage, you can prevent it from getting wet and rusting, or the finish from becoming dull and faded from sun, dirt, and precipitation.  Since you are not very likely to go get it and drive it when the weather is not nice, you will also greatly reduce its exposure to road salt and other corrosive elements.

Garaging a car that you mean to keep for a long time, especially one that you want to keep in good condition for a long time, is important!  Where do you keep your car?

How To Save Time

Posted by Carprimer  Published in General

When you are coming in for Orlando rental cars, make sure that you consider time as an important factor. You likely have spent time in line with your airline. You spent more time waiting for your flight. What you do not want to do is to have to wait around for the Florida car hire to get on track. This is not something you should have to do. There are many great ways to actually save money and still get to your destination quickly.

One of the best tips for you is to simply book your cheap Florida rental cars in advance. The longer ahead of time that you book these, the better you will be. You will have more cars to choose from, then. You will also have a variety of great locations to pick from. Most importantly, when you book your rental needs in advance, you do not have to worry about getting off the plane and standing in line again, for even more time than you already have. Anyone can benefit from the investment in booking their car rental needs online or even over the phone. You can do this easily the day before or the month before you leave for your visit. In all cases, it can save you a lot of time.

My Spring Vacation

Posted by Carprimer  Published in General
If you are ever in the market for a rental car Fort Lauderdale, I know just the person to call. His name is Arych and I met him while I was on spring vacation. He quickly caught my eye and I went over to him to meet him and get to know him.
I found out that he is the manager of a car rental Fort Lauderdale company and I learned about his job and about his family. He was also attending college part-time, as he wanted to be a lawyer, but could not afford to attend school full-time. So, he had decided to work while taking school part time in order to be able to afford to go.
It was quite amazing to learn that he was such a dedicated person and we spent a lot of time talking together. We quickly bonded and became good friends on the trip.
I knew after that first night that he was somebody really special. I also knew that he lived a long way from me and it was unrealistic to start any kind of romance on my trip. We had a great time and got to know each other very well. I think that we will always be friends and when we are looking for our Orlando rental cars next Christmas, I might just accidentally ring up the wrong car rental company.

The Puzzles of City Driving

Posted by Carprimer  Published in General

 Urban transport is a headache.

First, the knack to parallel park still eludes some otherwise brilliant folks; I’ve been known to drive for 10 minutes for a spot I could pull into, rather than tying up traffic while maneuvering with 3 inches to spare.

Visiting my dad who is seven miles away, I cross over 4 roads which change their names. I shudder what visitors endure if they have no road map handy. What’s worse is there is no city, town or borough demarcation, or apparent renovation or extension. The name simply changes, leaving me baffled; it has to happen to other drivers as well.

Not having traffic lights where they are needed is another aggravation, such as a 5-point intersection which involves a total of six lanes. Everyone takes turns, but I’m always amazed that accidents don’t occur with more regularity.

Then there are the tricky bridge merges. Navigating these at rush hour is not for the faint hearted, that’s for sure. I’ve actually had nightmares where my automobile has been pushed over the barrier and plummeted into the waters below. Don’t urban planners ever drive, or are they all alpha-males who feel it’s no problem to push one’s way through four lanes of traffic? Even with cars named as best for city driving, it will always be frustrating.
